For every artwork my clients ever bought, I can still remember why and how they came about; why each piece is special, what kind of relationship collectors develop with the works they own, how the piece came into their life. Each artwork featured also triggers wonderful memories; of the first time I discovered aboriginal artist #warlimpirrngatjapaltjarri at Frieze NY, Claudia Wieser at Marianne Boesky Gallery, Roberto Lugo at expo Chicago, Angel Otero at Lehman Maupin; or when I walked by Paul Wackers gorgeous mural outside the James Hotel on 6th Avenue or the time I cold called artist Jason Middlebrook after seeing his show at MASS MoCA to ask to visit his studio upstate NY.
